BEST NEW FRAGRANCE PRINT ADVERTISEMENTS

These awards have been sponsored by Shortlist Media.

Advertising in print created and launched around new 2010 fragrances.

Criteria: Visual effect, relation to commercial, creativity, use of photography, suitability of model/imagery, expression of concept of fragrance and memorability.

Judges selected from creative directors of magazines or advertising agencies, beauty editors and photographers.

 

BEST NEW FRAGRANCE COMMERCIAL

Advertising for television, cinema or Internet created and launched around new 2010 fragrances.

Criteria: Visual effect, relation to print ad, creativity, use of camera work and direction, suitability of model/imagery, expression of concept of fragrance and memorability.

Judges are selected from editors of magazines and freelance creative directors and film makers.

 

BEST NEW FRAGRANCE PACKAGING

Nominees must have been introduced in 2010 as part of a new fragrance launch.

Criteria: Attraction, visual impact, consistency, relation to actual scent, practicality, safety and environmental consideration.

Judges selected from packaging trade journals, architects and interior designers.

 

'PEOPLE'S CHOICE' AWARD

Favourite new fragrance purchased in 2010.

Judged by customers of a leading store group (tbc).

 

MEN'S HEALTH READERS' AWARD

Favourite new men's fragrance of 2010, judged by readers of Men's Health.

 

BEST NEW NICHE FRAGRANCE

This award for 2011 will be organised by basenotes.net and judged by their community. It will be gender neutral.

New fragrances launched in 2010, in less than 15 doors, will qualify for validation as official entries. Companies should be independent and not part of a multinational fragrance manufacturer.

 

BEST NEW CELEBRITY FRAGRANCE

Favourite new celebrity fragrance purchased in 2010.

Judged by customers of a leading store group (tbc).

 

THE MURRAY PEARCE AWARD FOR BEST FRAGRANCE INNOVATION

Fragrance Foundation member companies who submit entries for this award are required to prepare a presentation and to be judged by Board Directors of the UK Foundation. Submissions are open for new fragrance creation, fragrance production, delivery system, methods of fragrance ingredient extraction, fragrance packaging, fragrance research tool and fragrance database. Submissions for this award are judged on the following criteria: the innovation must have been created in the UK in 2010, must be original and must have the potential to move the industry ahead as a whole.

 

BEST NEW FRAGRANCE IN LIMITED DISTRIBUTION

New fragrances launched in under 50 doors during 2010.

Criteria as listed below.

Judges taken from a cross section of the UK fragrance industry - 1,700 retailers, media, manufacturers and their fragrance and packaging suppliers.

 

BEST NEW PRESTIGE MALE AND FEMALE FRAGRANCES

New fragrances launched nationally in over 50 doors during 2010.

Criteria: Fragrance uniqueness, personality and memorability. Overall packaging, innovation visual appeal. Market positioning and price. TV and print advertising. In-store promotion, sampling, displays and publicity.

Judges as per limited distribution.
